BMW DPF Fault 452A fix in easy steps

This fault can occur even when the DPF is correctly functioning such as doing it’s regen cycles without hiccup, differential pressure sensor reading a suitable level and etc.

This means you can relax and you don’t have to go to your dealership for new particulate filter, this fault simply refers to the fact that the age of the DPF or more specifically the mileage covered and estimated amount of regens have resulted in the DPF not being effective no longer.

Using Delphi scan tool we can see there was only eight thousand and some kilometers remaining of the DPFs “expected life” which is to be emphasised as dpf when taken care of can last as long as the car itself !

A simple reset of the adaptation brought the DPFs life back to 250,000kms so not to be worried about for a long long time
